2022 TOYOTA Crown Kluger - Info and Detail Review

2022 Toyota Crown Kluger

The Toyota Crown Kluger adopts the same sports appearance as the US version of the Highlander XSE model. Compared with the Highlander, the new car’s front surround uses a larger grille design, and the large black horizontal grille makes the front face of the new car more exaggerated visual effects. The rear part of the car is almost the same as the Highlander. The main difference is that the new car adopts a double-layer design of a different color from the body at the lower bumper, which echoes the front of the car to a certain extent.

On August 27, Toyota’s new medium-sized SUV Crown Kluger was officially launched. This time the new car launched a total of six models. This price is very close to that of the new generation of Highlander. The difference is that the Crown Kluger has two low-end models for the front-wheel drive, and the other four models are all four-wheel drive versions.

On the side of the body, the overall lines of the new car are very smooth and not bloated. Convex lines are used in the door position to create a wide body structure, which adds a sense of muscle to the visual effect. Together with the large-size two-color dense-spoke wheels, the aura of the whole vehicle is improved to a certain extent.

At the rear of the car, the new car is equipped with a roof spoiler and built-in high-position brake lights. The taillights on both sides are also long and narrow, and the blackened lampshade is used, which is more dynamic. In addition, the design of the rear enclosure of the new car is full of layers, the silver decoration echoes the front of the car, and the exhaust adopts a unilateral design with two outlets.

There are five body colors to choose from. In the interior, the new car's large floating central control screen, the air-conditioning control area integrated with the screen, and the three-spoke multi-function steering wheel are exactly the same as Highlander's design. The interior color offers two schemes of black and red and black. In contrast, the Paris red exterior + red and black interior highlights the sense of movement, but the color scheme is exclusive to the top.

In terms of power, all the Crown Kluger are equipped with a hybrid system based on a 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine. Among them, the maximum power of the 2.5 liter engine is 192 horsepower, the peak torque is 238 Newton metres, and the transmission system is matched with an E-CVT gearbox. In terms of motors, the two-wheel drive version is equipped with a 134kW motor, while the four-wheel drive version adds a 40kW rear motor. Overall, the combined output power of this HEV power system is 249 horsepower.
